Kittawa was founded in 1975. Its name was selected following discussions among the original group of French speaking owners. The final decision came when someone said the campground was ideal for those who wanted to leave Ottawa to holiday in the countryside. In French the word leave is Quitte (pronounced Kit in English). Merge this wiOttawa and the campground’s name KITTAWA was born.
We are situated on over 134 incredibly beautiful wooded acres complete with two manmade lakes that connect through two bridges. We even have our own island! We are located 2 kilometers from exit 79 on the 417 Highway and 35 kilometers east of Ottawa, Canada’s charming capital city. Calypso Waterpark is a stone’s throw away and only 1 kilometer as the crow flies.
In 1986, Mr. Paul Moreau purchased Kittawa and expanded from 60 to over 400 sites, 350 of which are full-service sites. With no advertisement, social media or website, Mr. Moreau grew this campground simply through word of mouth. Starting in 2017, Kittawa will be run by the Realffe Dagenais family. To all those who have been here before, all we can say to you is "WELCOME HOME"! For all others, we invite you to come camp with us this summer! We look forward to welcoming you and offering you a very pleasant and memorable stay.
Amenities and Services
We have over 400 spacious campsites that have distinct charm; some shaded, some more open and some nestled in the deep woods. We offer a wide range of amenities including varying mixtures of electricity, water and sewer services or no hookups for a more down to earth camping experience. We have level pull-thru sites that accommodate coaches up to 45 feet long with cars in tow. Power availability for campsites includes 30 and 50 amps, 110/120 Volts, (15 amp adapters are available to purchase if needed). For the more rugged campers who enjoy the wild and outdoor experience, we have a separate tenting area with no services.

If you are planning on arriving and checking in after 8 PM, you must contact the office at (613)-443-3040 to make arrangements. If no contact is made before 7:45 PM, no check-ins will be accepted after 8 PM.
A CASH deposit is required for bathroom keys ($20) and access cards ($10). Please make sure you have cash on hand for the deposits. A full refund will take place when the keys are brought back to the office at the time of check out.
